Progressive Insurance is one of the largest insurance providers in the United States. The official name is the Progressive Corporation, and they primarily provide car insurance. Many of these people work in sales, claims adjustment, investigation, and as Progressive Insurance agents within a specific region or city. As Progressive has a very robust marketing and advertising department, there are also many jobs within this section of the company. The company's headquarters are located in Mayfield Village, Ohio.

The Progressive Corporation was started in 1937 by Jack Green and Joseph M. Lewis. Progressive Insurance started with car insurance, and was fairly successful with those efforts for decades. They also expanded into different types of insurance including motorcycle, boat, RV, home insurance, and commercial insurance for vehicles. Progressive Insurance has a significant portion of the market share in auto insurance policies with more than 13 million policies in place as of their last reporting. In 2009, Progressive Insurance expanded internationally for the first time. This vehicle insurance called Progressive Direct was available in Australia only, but it was rebranded as simply Progressive in 2011.

Progressive Insurance is available almost exclusively in the United States. However, they have started offering car insurance in Australia. Progressive has become well-known for their television commercials which feature the character "Flo" played by comedian Stephanie Courtney.

In 2017, Progressive reported revenue of $29.3 billion which came out to a total of $50.44 of revenue per share. They reported quarterly revenue growth of 21.4 percent and quarterly earnings growth of 91.6 percent.
