In 2009, Progressive Insurance expanded internationally for the first time. This vehicle insurance called Progressive Direct was available in Australia only, but it was rebranded as simply Progressive in 2011.
Progressive Insurance is available almost exclusively in the United States. However, they have started offering car insurance in Australia. Progressive has become well-known for their television commercials which feature the character "Flo" played by comedian Stephanie Courtney.
In 2017, Progressive reported revenue of $29.3 billion which came out to a total of $50.44 of revenue per share. They reported quarterly revenue growth of 21.4 percent and quarterly earnings growth of 91.6 percent.
