DaVita Kidney Care

DaVita is an American healthcare organization that is known as one of the largest providers of kidney care in the country. The business operates out of a headquarters in Denver, Colorado, and owns many subsidiaries. The organization collectively operates a large network of 2,510 dialysis centers around the country, and 237 in other countries (11 countries total). As of 2017, DaVita had over 74,000 employees across its two divisions - Clinical Research and Kidney Care.

DaVita was originally known as Total Renal Care, which was restructured and renamed in 1999. By 2010, Davita's revenue was $5.7 billion and it has since doubled, with 2017 revenue totaling over $10.8 billion. DaVita's services include in-center hemodialysis, as well as vascular access management, chronic kidney disease education, renal diet assistance, and more. Their Clinical Research division is a wholly owned subsidiary of the company that performs clinical trials across North America, Europe, and Latin America.

DaVita ranked at number 181 on the Fortune 500 list in 2017, which was the 11th consecutive year that it had been listed. It also appeared on Fortune's list of Most Admired Companies for 10 consecutive years from 2007 to 2017. DaVita's popularity is partly a reflection of a large amount of philanthropic work to raise awareness of chronic kidney disease, as well as an effort toward sustainability. DaVita opened the first United States LEED-certified dialysis center in 2010 and was named one ColoradoBiz Magazine's 2015 Top Green Companies in Colorado.
